No one wants to find themselves with an STD and certainly not when they are pregnant. Many doctors routinely screen for STDs at the first prenatal visit and during the third trimester. Bacterial STDs are treated with antibiotics which can reduce the risk of miscarriage, stillbirth, premature labor and other complications before birth and at delivery.
